Relationships Manager

We are seeking a confident, enthusiastic, strategic self-starter, with have proven success in opening doors to forge and maintain high-value relationships in any sector.

Position: Relationships Manager

Location: Homebased, with some travel to Newcastle-under-Lyme

Contract: Permanent, full time 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £32k basic, plus £5k bonus

 

About the role:

As Relationships Manager you will build on and develop relationships with existing and prospective major donors to enhance regional and strategic fundraising relations, as well as maximising opportunities with large national and international Trusts & Foundations that require major donor cultivation.

The role will work closely with the wider fundraising team and Executive Board to strengthen the partnerships portfolio and support long term major donors. 

About you:

To be successful in the role of Relationships Manager you will require the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including the Chief Executive, Founder and Trustee Board.  You do not need to have worked in the sector before, but will have proven success at building high value relationships.

Essential skills and experience include:

  • Sophisticated communication skills, verbal and written
  • Experience of financial planning, budgeting and target setting and presenting detailed financial information.
  • Excellent face to face, interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills, with the gravitas to inspire confidence in high net-worth donors and other funders.
  • Organised and methodical approach to planning and delivering against a varied workload.
  • The ability to demonstrate respect, understanding and sensitivity when communicating around personal and emotive issues.
  • A strong track record in securing five to six figure sums from high net worth individuals.
  • Extensive proven experience of producing high quality and compelling proposals, reports and correspondence to inspire generous support and major donations.
  • Proven experience of developing and managing donor engagement and cultivation strategies.
  • High ethical standards of behaviour, good judgment, respect for others, confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Willing and able to work outside of normal office hours to represent the charity and undertake fundraising activities as necessary
