Support Worker / Carer

We are seeking compassionate Support Workers to support individuals with learning disabilities to live independently and lead fulfilling lives.

Position: Support Worker / Carer
Salary: £13.50 per hour
Location: Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan
Hours: 16 to 37.5 hours per week, rota basis
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: Ongoing

 

About the Role

This is a rewarding, hands-on role supporting individuals with disabilities to live as independently as possible within their community.

You will work as part of a supportive team, delivering person-centred care and encouraging individuals to make their own choices, build confidence and participate fully in everyday life.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing practical support with daily living tasks such as budgeting, cooking, housework and attending appointments
  • Supporting with personal care and health needs, including medication and daily routines
  • Offering emotional support through empathy and active listening
  • Encouraging individuals to express their views and take part in decision making
  • Promoting independence and supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals
  • Maintaining accurate records including care notes and financial records
  • Administering and recording medication in line with policies

You will be required to work flexibly across a rota, including days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, sleep-ins and wakeful nights.

 

About You

We are looking for individuals who are caring, reliable and committed to making a difference.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals in a care, support or similar setting
  • A caring, patient and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work flexibly across a rota

Desirable:

  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own car
